Artistic Director - Born
in South Africa, Amanda was raised in Vancouver.
She holds a double major BA in Drama and English
Literature and Master’s
Degree in Theatre from U.B.C. She earned her
performance diploma from the American Musical
and Dramatic Academy in N.Y.C. and her stage
craft diploma from Douglas College. Amanda
worked as a dramaturg at the Playwright's Theatre
Centre from 2002 to 2005.
Amanda is celebrated by Meta
for her strong determination and integrity. She
is praised by actors and designers alike for
her ability to drive an ensemble and provide
guidance through the live performance terrain.
Amanda is currently completing
her PhD in Drama at the University of Toronto.
In the summer of 2007 she studied
with Anne Bogart at SITI in Saratoga Springs,
NY. |
Associate Artistic Director - A co-founder of Meta,Mélissa was co-Artistic Director from 2004 to 2009. Originally
from Vancouver, Mélissa graduated from U.B.C.
with a BFA in Production and Design in 2003.
Since then she has been working as a Professional
Stage Manager with companies such as: Blackbird
Theatre, Théâtre la Seizième,
Headlines Theatre, the Arts Club and Boca Del
Lupo. She also worked as Lighting Designer for
Mad Duck, Mice and Mentors and the Broken Whisper
Collective.
She brings to Meta a focused vision, her inspired
talents as a designer, and her keen abilty to
maintain a sense of balance in performance and
technical operations. As Meta's Technical Director,
Mélissa provides the foundation for technical
innovation and is constantly looking for unique
methods of augmenting the live performance experience
for our audiences. |
Associate Artistic Producer - A co-founder of Meta, Seán was co-Artistic Director from 2004 to 2009. For over a decade, he has been a professional actor, director and producer in theatre and film.
Seán trained as an actor before studying directing and production. He is an award-winning filmmaker and has been certified by the Fight Directors Canada. He was Artistic Managing Director of Screaming Weenie Productions in Vancouver from 2008 through to 2011. |
